Installation Notes
It is essential that the fixing surface, onto which the awning is to be mounted, be of sufficient strength to bear the weight of the product. Ideally, any proposed surface should be of brick wall strength. Awnings can be fitted to most surfaces as long as the appropriate fixing method is used.
We strongly recommend the use of bungalow brackets when installing awnings to single storey buildings. These optional brackets allow the awning to be fitted directly underneath the eaves but ensure the fixing points are lower down the wall where there is more strength.
Custom made installation brackets, to load spread or to avoid surface obstacles, such as drain pipes, can be manufactured to customer specification if required.
For aesthetic reasons, we recommend the awning should overlap its window by at least 300mm on each side. Remember the wider the awning the more sun protection it will afford the user as the sun moves around.
